The W2i Digital Cities Convention in Chicago is a professional-development seminar and thought-leadership conference providing local-government IT professionals with practical training in broadband-wireless planning, and broad exposure to the opportunities and challenges surrounding city and county planning and implementation.

Through several panel discussions, the conference explores the range of wireless-enabled applications and services for cities; business models and public-private agreements between local governments and their network providers; and best practices at a global level among major-city wireless project representatives, from Toronto to Mexico City.

At the same time, several breakout roundtable sessions "drill down" into contemporary issues and opportunities (see below) for public sector and privatey sector participants. The event further serves as an industry summit for the ecosystem of technology equipment vendors, service and application providers, and systems integrators.
