Digital Inclusion Forum, a cooperative initiative of Microsoft, Intel, IBM, One Community and the Wireless Internet Institute, will facilitate the sharing of best practices among local leaders overseeing digital inclusion programs and call for and promote effective public policies in support of initiatives bridging the digital divide affecting the competitiveness of local communities. The Forum will focus on identifying and implementing proven sustainable market solutions to bridge the digital divide in communities.

      The District has begun transitioning from its Wireless Accelerated Responder Network (WARN), a successful pilot for public safety, to a new 700 MHz Regional Wireless Broadband Network (RWBN) that will enable a robust set of tools applications for police, fire and other emergency personnel and could serve as a test bed for the planned national public safety network. could eventually span the region. What has been the District's experience with 700 MHz? What are current and foreseeable interoperability challenges?             1st Broadband Wireless and Public-Safety Interoperability Roundtable

            The topic of Interoperability of public-safety networks raises many issues: What federal and state policy requirements are going to emerge? What will be the impact of the 700 MHz public-safety spectrum auction? Who will own and operate networks?
