1.Marin County (CA) RFI for Wireless Broadband System
Representatives of the county's joint powers authorities say they'll ask Internet service providers for advice about how such a system might work. "In light of the strong support our consultant's survey indicated for the idea, one of the authorities, most likely the General Services Authority, will issue a request for information, inviting any number of organizations with the ability to deliver this service to tell us how they would be able to do it," said Michael Garvey, executive director of the Marin General Services Authority, a county agency. Responses Due June 15, 2007, Conference May 10, 2007.

2.Plano (TX) Wants Wireless Network
The City of Plano is soliciting competitive sealed proposals for high tech procurement. The high tech procurement will provide the City of Plano with wireless public internet access at three locations (one library, one recreation center, and one "outdoors" park) for a proof of concept with the consideration of expanding up to, but not limited to, fifty sites. In order to solicit all resolutions and technologies, the City of Plano is open to considering new and innovated technologies. The City of Plano will place higher considerations on solutions that provide multiple options to the City. Some examples of these options would include, but are not limited to, guest "sign on" pages, user authentications, free time vs. secure online payment, filtered and non filtered solutions. Proposals Due May 14, 2007.

3.San Jose to San Francisco Caltrain Wireless Network
The Project is to provide seamless, high-speed WiFi internet access to rail passengers on board trains and rail platforms from San Jose to downtown San Francisco. The Pre-Bid Conference is May 09, 2007. Proposals Due June 6, 2007.
