2.Tallahassee Seeks Wi-Fi Network for Bus System Scope of Work The Contractor shall design, furnish, install, test, and make operational an electronic Wi-Fi System (Wi-Fi). The Contractor shall provide all related maintenance for one year and upgrades to sustain the system. The Contractor shall be responsible for all tasks, equipment, system components, and information services required to make Wi-Fi broadcasts available to StarMetro passengers. The Wi-Fi system shall be installed in up to ten (6 minimum) buses built by Advanced Bus Industries and Gillig. Branded Splash Page: As part of the Wi-Fi service, Contractor shall work with StarMetro to provide specifications and implement a ?splash page? which users must view each time the Wi-Fi system is used. This page will communicate to users that the Wi-Fi service is provided to them by StarMetro and the City of Tallahassee. On-board Equipment: The on-board equipment shall at a minimum have the following features: 802.11b/g for user connection Integrated, rugged high-speed cellular modem Rugged antenna connections High-gain internal and external antenna equipment 10/100 Ethernet port for on-board systems 12/24 VDC vehicle power supply Content Filtering Wi-Fi service will be provided with a content filter engine that has the ability to bar objectionable material from being viewed by any and all customers. StarMetro?s project manager will work with the selected vendor to ensure this system is implemented properly. Remote Monitoring / User Tracking The Contractor will provide remote monitoring of the Wi-Fi service to demonstrate measurable uptime and customer usage levels for marketing purposes, in addition to notifications of full or partial failures of individual units. This information will be made available to the StarMetro?s staff via a web-based reporting tool for easy access. End-User Support The Contractor will submit a technical support plan detailing the proposed method of providing technical, informational and communication support to the rider via local telephone number. System Support Support for the maintenance and operation of installed Wi-Fi subsystems shall be provided on-site at StarMetro on a continuous basis throughout installation and for one year. Ongoing support after installation will be per the installation and maintenance plan. Support for in-service Wi-Fi equipment shall be provided within twenty-four hours of reported system outage for a one year term. • More
