10/05/2007 1.Twinsburg (OH) Seeks Proposals for Network Expansion The City of Twinsburg, Ohio wishes to expand available fiber optic or equivalent, including WiMAX or any technology that is capable of broadband services to provide signal availability to specific industrial and commercial sections of the City in support of economic development. To accomplish this, the City is seeking a partner who will design, install and operate the system. The successful respondent will be contracted to operate and maintain the system including promotion and day-to-day operations. The City will commit making City property available for locating equipment and improvements, will commit to providing rights for use of public right-of-way and City-owned utility poles, and will defer permit fees associated with construction of facilities. The successful respondent will provide a general plan for deployment, provide preliminary and final engineer of the agreed upon system, and will assist the City in implementing construction. Upon implementation, the successful responded will receive a five-year contract with extension clauses for the provision of system maintenance and system support services. Proposals are not due until November 30, 2007.
