1.Irving (TX) RFP for Cisco APs and Services
The City of Irving is soliciting requests for offer (RFO) for the placement, configuration, and installation of wireless access points and antennas for City Facilities. This will also include a post installation site survey to provide a coverage map/report. Propsals due February 22, 2008.

2.South Carolina Grants to Three Counties for Wireless Study
Pickens, Anderson, and Oconee Counties have received a $60,000 grant from the state Department of Commerce to study the development of Wi-Fi in the area. The Wi-Fi grant will fund a study to determine what type of infrastructure would be needed for wireless Internet, where it would need to be located and the cost of establishing a wireless connection throughout the three counties.

3.Ottawa County (MI) Hearing for Wireless Countywide Agreement
The company who has been negoitating an agreement for a 300+ square mile wireless network will be announced Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Ottawa (MI) County Commissioners meeting.

4.McAllen (TX) Issues Request for Pre-Qualifications for Wi-Fi Equipment
McAllen TX has issued a Request for Pre-Qualifications for WiFi equipment in preparation for the procurement of WiFi equipment for hot spots to be implemented over the next two years. Interested vendors will provide free equipment for a 2 week test on a 1 square mile test area and 100 concurrent users. To pre-qualify, vendors must respond by Febraury 29, 2008.
