Through this RFP, the LCRA plans to select a “market leading” technology that will meet expectations of security, systems integration, and scalability while allowing for efficient technological upgrades. Phase 1 of the installation will have the vendor implement the WLAN system in one of the main buildings, while training LCRA employees to handle installation and management of the WLAN system. 2.L.A. Convention Center RFP for Wireless Internet Services Los Angles Convention Center RFP for Vendor to Sell Telecommunications and Wireless Internet Service. Proposals due April 15, 2008. The Los Angeles Convention Center sells telecommunications and wireless Internet services to exhibitors and attendees and has issued a RFP for a vendor to perform and sell these services. The vendors responding to this RFP must be currently involved in or have been involved in the administration of a telephone resale program. Vendors must detail the level of involvement of each resale program and list client references contacts. 3.Houston Wi-Fi RFI Responses Due March 20, 2008 The City of Houston (COH) has implemented substantial municipal wireless broadband network infrastructure to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of key City operations. The City intends to expand this municipal network to further advance City operations, public safety, bridge the digital divide, and promote economic opportunities.
The CoH wireless broadband service requirements fall into three categories: 1. High speed mobile broadband 2. Fixed (line of sight) wireless broadband 3. Roaming/fixed (non line of sight) high speed broadband. http://www.faspd.ci.houston.tx.us/bid_download.aspx
