1.Wichita (KS) Wireless Point to MultiPoint Wireless Network

The City of Wichita, Kansas, is soliciting Qualification Statements from a prospective communication integration company (Vendor) which maintains the experience to design and deploy a converged Point-to-Multipoint wireless network that will integrate data services over a single transfer platform. The City wishes to transition selected current communication and information services capabilities, which reside on several leased and self-owned networks, to a single converged network.

In the development of a cooperative atmosphere for the successful delivery of the converged network, the City will work with the awarded Vendor in the negotiation(s) for any necessary communications and information services and equipment. The City does require that antenna hardware involved on the project, be sourced from Alvarion. The City prefers the Breeze Access VL model which operates in the 5 GHz frequency range. The City will be incorporating other radio frequencies within the project which may require some integrative work required of the awarded Vendor. Other applications utilizing these various radio frequencies will involve traffic signal systems and camera video systems which will require the integration of 802.11x and 900MHz technologies, with the 5GHz frequency.

Proposals due May 16, 2008.
