1.Appalachian Council of Governments Seeks Consultant
The Appalachian Council of Governments (ACOG),as grant administrator for the Counties of Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens, is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide a frameworkfor communities in the three county study area to develop broadband projects. The master planning initiative is to result in the production of an existing conditions inventory; a needs assessment; goals, objectives, and priorities;and an implementation plan. The implementationplan is to include: a network organization and operation section, broadband infrastructure section, funding strategies, and a community education and training section. Weslaco (TX) School District Seeks Wireless P2P Data Link. The proposal is for the procurement of a wireless gigabit data link between the Network Operation Center Weslaco ISD and the Career and Technology Education Center. Weslaco ISD has a 100-foot free standing, rigid, 3-legged tower at the NOC as well as an existing fiber optic ring that extends to Beatriz Garza Middle School approximately one (1) mile from the CATE building.
